Grant Desme Interview on DP Show

Anyone who knows me really well knows that I am a huge fan of Dan Patrick. I think he is the best sports personality today, and probably ever. This past Wednesday he did an interview with former minor league baseball star Grant Desme, who decided to hang up his cleats despite his success in baseball to join the seminary. It is the second story within the last couple years in which a very successful sports star has decided to retire to join the seminary and become a priest. I was very impressed with how respectfully Dan handled the interview, and I was thankful that he gave Grant the opportunity to tell his story to an audience who may not have heard his story otherwise. It was a great witness and I believe there is a great lesson to be learned from Grant Desme. I wish Grant nothing but the best as he studies in the seminary. He sounds like a really great kid and I'm sure he'll make a great priest. Keep him and all our seminarians (especially my brother, Steve) in your prayers. Thanks, enjoy the interview, and God bless!

UPDATE: 3/11/10. National Semiconductor has been taken off LDI's boycott list. The Letter Writing Campaign certainly is having an effect. Praise God!

Note: National Semiconductor is listed on LDI’s boycott list as of January 25, 2010 for their support of Planned Parenthood. I cannot guarantee that National Semiconductor will continue to be listed on LDI’s boycott list at the time you read this blog post. Please visit Life Decisions International for confirmation that the company is still on the boycott list.

About National Semiconductor
"National Semiconductor creates energy-efficient analog and mixed-signal semiconductors as well as SolarMagic™ power optimizers. Its PowerWise® products enable systems that consume less power, extend battery life, and generate less heat." (www.national.com)

What does Planned Parenthood have to do with semiconductors? It beats me.

Today is the 37th anniversary of the infamous Roe vs. Wade decision. It is also the day 300,000+ people will be gathering in Washington D.C. for the March For Life. If you are not able to attend in Washington D.C. March For Life, there are also several local Marches for Life. New this year, you can also join a Virtual March for Life. You can even choose your own unique avatar. I have joined the virtual March for Life. So have famous politicians such as Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee, and Mike Pence and thousands of others. The March for Life will be telecast on EWTN. Please pray for our nation. God bless!

Thank You People of Massachusetts!

Scott Brown (R) was elected as the senator of Massachusetts today. This is a huge upset in one of the most liberal states in America. This win means that there is a strong possibility that the current health care legislation will not pass and hopefully some of the other very liberal policies being pushed by the Whitehouse will be reconsidered. The people of Massachusetts have sent a strong message to Democrats and to Washington that they are not happy with the direction of the country. The government is to work for the people, not the other way around. Hopefully some people begin to get that message. God bless!

LDI Letter Writing Campaign: Merck

Note: Merck is listed on LDI’s boycott list as of January 17, 2010 for their support of Planned Parenthood. I cannot guarantee that Merck will continue to be listed on LDI’s boycott list at the time you read this blog post. Please visit Life Decisions International for confirmation if the company is still on the boycott list.

About Merck & Company Inc.

Merck produces several “health care” related products. These products include: A&D Ointment (infant care), Dr. Scholl’s, Tinactin (personal care: feet), Claritin, Clarinex, Nasonex, Singulair (nasal/respiratory), Coppertone (skin), Zocor (cholesterol). If you currently take any of these products I encourage you to look for alternative products, and write Merck about your boycott of their products until they change their policy of supporting Planned Parenthood. Merck has also been on record in support of the current health care reform. Merck also supports the scientifically debatable/political issue of so called man-caused climate change. Below is a quote I took directly from the Merck website about their mission to customers.

“Our business is preserving and improving human life and animal health. All of our actions must be measured by our success in achieving this goal. Above all, we value our ability to serve patients who can benefit from the appropriate use of our products and services. We are dedicated to providing the highest level of professional excellence and health delivery systems. We strive to identify the most critical needs of health care professionals and consumers, and we devote our resources to meeting those needs.”

Mr. Dick Clark
Chairman, President, & CEO
Merck & Company Inc.
1 Merck Drive, Box 100
Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889-0100

Dear Mr. Dick Clark:

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter; I know that you are a very busy man and that your time is very valuable to you. I am writing as a consumer and a citizen concerned about Merck’s support of Planned Parenthood. Life Decisions International has listed Merck as a company that supports Planned Parenthood, and as a result Merck is listed on their boycott list. Life Decisions International is a well respected, non-profit organization dedicated to exposing the radical agenda of Planned Parenthood and identifying those companies that support Planned Parenthood. As a consumer and partner of Life Decisions International, I find your support of Planned Parenthood disheartening. Why am I and hundreds of thousands of other citizens and consumers so opposed to Planned Parenthood?

• Planned Parenthood commits more abortions than any other single entity
o As someone who has personally met women who have had an abortion as well as women who were abortion vulnerable but chose life, I can sympathize with these women and their often difficult circumstances. However, the act of abortion is a grave evil because it takes the life of an innocent human being. Abortion is not health care because pregnancy is not a disease. Despite this fact, Planned Parenthood, an organization that claims to be for women’s health, relies on abortions to stay in business. Abortion is a core initiative of theirs, and it is an essential financial driver of their business. As a company that prides itself on preserving and improving human life rather than destroying human life, I would expect that Merck is absolutely opposed to abortion and Planned Parenthood’s promotion of abortion.
• Planned Parenthood is not “Pro-women” or “Pro-Choice” as they claim.
o Planned Parenthood prides itself on being “pro-women” and “pro-choice,” but in reality they only support women who share their values and make choices in which Planned Parenthood approves. Planned Parenthood opposes laws that give parents a right to know if their daughter plans to have an abortion, and they oppose “women’s right to know” legislation. Planned Parenthood very rarely refers women to pregnancy centers or adoption agencies that can provide women with information and support that offers women an alternative choice to abortion. Planned Parenthood often discourages women from seeing an ultrasound of their baby. Planned Parenthood does not desire these women have a choice, they desire that these women feel that they have no choice but abortion. Planned Parenthood also fails to acknowledge or inform women about the dangers of abortion including the research from dozens of studies that found a link between breast cancer and abortion.

According to the Merck Code of Conduct as it relates to its customers, the overarching goal of your business is to preserve and improve human life. Planned Parenthood neither preserves nor improves human life, and your association with Planned Parenthood seriously damages your credibility and reputation as a company that strives to preserve and improve human life. As a consumer, I will not support any company that openly supports Planned Parenthood, and I will advise all my coworkers, family, friends, and strangers alike to do the same. Until your support of Planned Parenthood is withdrawn, I will support those products offered from your competitors whom have not thrown their support behind the deadly organization of Planned Parenthood. Because I believe in the good intentions of you and your company to improve and preserve human life, I presume that you were unaware of the radical life threatening agenda of Planned Parenthood. After all, Planned Parenthood goes against the very core values and mission your organization claims to live by and represent. I respectfully request that you immediately discontinue your support for Planned Parenthood. If you believe that your organization should not be included on the boycott list or if you want to know what steps need to be taken in order to be taken off the boycott list, please contact Life Decisions International. Until Life Decisions International removes Merck from the boycott list, I cannot morally justify supporting your organization. In an effort to preserve credibility and respect from your consumers, employees, and community at large, I expect that you will live up to the code of conduct and values you and your company claim to uphold. Once again thank you for your time, and I look forward to the day when Merck is no longer on Life Decisions International’s boycott list.

Sincerely,

Michael J. Duquaine

LDI Letter Writing Campaign: Malin+Goetz

Note: Malin+Goetz is listed on LDI's boycott list as of January 11, 2010 for their support of Planned Parenthood. I cannot guarantee that Malin+Goetz will continue to be listed on LDI's boycott list at the time you read this blog post. Please visit Life Decisions International for confirmation that the company is still on the boycott list.

I encourage you all to write a short letter to Malin+Goetz during this week of January 10 - January 17 voicing your opposition to their support of Planned Parenthood. I am on a weekly letter-writing schedule so check back soon and often for updates on other companies on the boycott list. If you do decide to write a letter to Malin+Goetz or if you decide to write to one of the other organizations on the boycott list in the future, please email me a copy of your letter at mjduquaine@gmail.com. It would provide for me great inspiration and hope. Thank you and God bless!

Mr. Matthew Malin

Dear Mr. Matthew Malin:

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter; I know that you are a very busy man and that your time is very valuable to you. Because your time is so valuable, I am going to just cut to the chase. Life Decisions International has listed Malin + Goetz as a company that supports Planned Parenthood. As a result of this support, Malin+Goetz is listed on their boycott list. Life Decisions International is a well respected, non-profit organization dedicated to exposing the radical agenda of Planned Parenthood and those companies that support Planned Parenthood. As a consumer and partner of Life Decisions International, I find your support of Planned Parenthood disheartening. Why am I and hundreds of thousands of other consumers so opposed to Planned Parenthood?
Did you know?
 Planned Parenthood pushes for laws and constitutional amendments that guarantee unlimited birth control and abortion for everyone, regardless of age.
 Planned Parenthood commits more abortions than any other single entity in the United States.
 Planned Parenthood opposes laws that protect human beings from late-term partial birth abortions, those committed for “birth control” or “convenience,” and those executed for the purpose of sex selection.
 Planned Parenthood claims to be “pro-women” and “pro-choice,” but they oppose laws that give parents a right to know if their daughter plans to have an abortion, and they oppose “women’s right to know” legislation. Planned Parenthood very rarely refers women to pregnancy centers or adoption agencies that provide women with an alternative choice to abortion.
 Planned Parenthood refuses to tell women about research from dozens of studies that found a link between breast cancer and abortion, and they often dissuade women from having an ultrasound before making a life changing decision about their pregnancy.
These are just a few of the numerous examples of Planned Parenthood’s radical agenda, which a majority of Americans oppose. As a consumer, I will not support any company that supports Planned Parenthood, and I will advise all my coworkers, family, and friends to do the same. There are several alternative products in your industry from companies that do not support Planned Parenthood that I would be more than willing to support. I am hopeful that your prior support for Planned Parenthood was based on a misunderstanding, and that now knowing about the radical agenda of Planned Parenthood; you will immediately withdraw support for the deadly organization. If you believe that your organization should not be included on the boycott list or if you want to know what steps need to be taken in order to be taken off the boycott list, please contact Life Decisions International. Until Life Decisions International removes Malin + Goetz from the boycott list, I cannot morally justify supporting your organization.

Sincerely,

Michael J. Duquaine

Join Me in Becoming a LDI Partner

One of the first things I did this new year was become a LDI (Life Decisions International) partner. LDI is a pro-life organization that is challenging the culture of death. The primary mission at LDI is to expose Planned Parenthood's radical agenda worldwide, and to expose those organizations that support Planned Parenthood. LDI publishes a boycott list, a complete listing is made available when you become a LDI partner, as well as several brochures that explain Planned Parenthood's dangerous and radical agenda. LDI is an organization that I fully support both financially and prayerfully. I ask that you visit LDI's website and prayerfully consider making a donation, which will be tax deductible, and become a LDI partner. Because of copyright rules, I can not copy the entire boycott list, but I will be writing letters to some corporations in the near future and will post my letters on this blog. I will encourage you also to write letters to these corporations. The boycott, the letters, and the prayers work. Just today I received an email that UPS, once on the boycott list, is no longer on the list because of the pressure from LDI and it's partners upset over the company's prior support of Planned Parenthood. If you have questions about why I and so many other pro-lifers are so against Planned Parenthood and it's agenda, please, please respond either by comment or by emailing me at: mjduquaine@gmail.com. Below is a link to the LDI website; the link is also permanently saved on my sidebar. Please join this very important and proven successful campaign. God bless!
