Obama Celebrates Abortion on 38th Anniversary of Roe vs. Wade

On a day when hundreds of thousands of pro-life men, women, and children marched in Washington and across the nation in protest of the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision which legalized abortion in the United States, President Obama issued the following statement.

President Obama’s statement:

“Today marks the 38th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that protects women’s health and reproductive freedom, and affirms a fundamental principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters.

I am committed to protecting this constitutional right. I also remain committed to policies, initiatives, and programs that help prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant women and mothers, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption.

And on this anniversary, I hope that we will recommit ourselves more broadly to ensuring that our daughters have the same rights, the same freedoms, and the same opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.”

President Obama continues to provide proof that he is the most pro-abortion president in this country’s history. Let’s take a closer look at what exactly it is that he said.

“Today marks the 38th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that protects women’s health”

How does abortion protect women’s health? Pregnancy is not a disease. In fact, abortion carries far more health risks for the mother than carrying out the pregnancy. Physical effects of abortion could include any of the following: bowel injury, hemorrhaging, infection, laceration of the cervix, perforation of the uterus, severe and rapid bleeding, and more. This does not even mention the emotional side effects such as post-abortion syndrome or the long term side effects such as an increased risk of breast cancer, future miscarriages, etc.

“And reproductive freedom”

What is reproductive freedom? Is it the freedom to reproduce or the freedom from reproducing? Judging from the context of the President’s comment, I’m guessing he is talking about a freedom from reproducing, but can you really call killing your own child freedom? Children are not a burden as President Obama once famously stated, but they are a blessing from God. No woman, and no man for that matter should have the right to kill their child. Women have the freedom to choose a chaste lifestyle and in so doing will avoid pregnancy, but once the woman has achieved conception there is no freedom from reproducing. The intentional choice to kill a child in the womb is not freedom, but slavery to ignorance or selfishness.

“and affirms a fundamental principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters.”

I find this phrase very ironic coming from a president that seems to constantly push for bigger government intervention in our lives. The hypocrisy of his statement is clear and evident even in the very matter in which he speaks. He says that abortion is a private family matter, yet he pushes for more lenient abortion laws which allow an underage girl to have an abortion without a parent’s knowledge or consent. Many times only the woman and the abortionist know about the abortion. President Obama seems to have no problem forcing all Americans to purchase health insurance. Is this not also a private family matter? President Obama has no problem requiring all public schools institute “comprehensive” sex education to children as young as 6. I thought the primary educators of children are their parents. So much for not intruding on private family matters.

“I am committed to protecting this constitutional right.”

Is the killing of an unborn child really a constitutional right or is this a misinterpretation of the constitution? This comment reveals that not only does President Obama indifferent about abortion, he is actively promoting abortion.

“I also remain committed to policies, initiatives, and programs that help prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant women and mothers, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption.”

The problem is that the policies, initiatives and programs that President Obama supports in reality do the exact opposite of his supposed goals. President Obama is a proud supporter of Planned Parenthood, the deadly organization that is the leading abortion provider in our nation. They also echo these same sentiments all the while making millions of dollars through their abortion business. The push for a contraceptive culture is certainly behind his plan for a reduction in unwanted pregnancies, but in reality it is the very contraceptive minded culture that has created and expanded the notion of unwanted pregnancy.

“And on this anniversary, I hope that we will recommit ourselves more broadly to ensuring that our daughters have the same rights, the same freedoms, and the same opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.”

The conception and delivery of a child does not inhibit the hopes and dreams of a woman. Sarah Palin is a perfect example of a pro-life woman who has achieved great public success. In fact, the birth of a child is the very definition of hope. Ask any woman who has tried unsuccessfully to achieve pregnancy how they feel about the opportunity to have a baby. Once again, President Obama fails to see or understand the great blessing of children. May God have mercy on our wounded nation. I pray that one day abortion will be an unthinkable decision and that the Roe vs. Wade decision will be overturned. Continue the fight for life. We will win because we have God and the truth on our side.

God bless!

Hey mike commenting on my iphone so forgive my mispellings and my muder of grammer. Really liked yhis post. What constitutional right is he talking about? Im sure the founders never intended the constitution or the susequent bill of rights (the original 10) to protect the abortion situation. Society as a whole (as you state) must realize the moral implications pushing abortion as a viable option for pregnancy. Ok so im tired of using my phone so ill finish later.
