My cousin David and his wife Megan had their first child late Wednesday night. They had a baby girl named Emma Rose. I visited the family and everyone is doing great. The birth of a baby is one of the most exciting times in life. It's what life is all about. Congratulations David and Megan. Here is a picture of mom and baby.
This blog is my attempt to faithfully live and proclaim the Gospel of Life. It is my answer to the call for a New Evangelization for the greater glory of God.

Aunt Mary Gives Thumbs Up
In typical aunt Mary fashion, when asked how the surgery went she gave a thumbs up. She is still feeling uncomfortable after the surgery, but it sounds like she is doing well considering. Below is the latest update on her condition. Please continue to remember my aunt Mary in your prayers.

Hello again--
Just wanted to let you all know that Mary is out of surgery.
She is just waking up in recovery. Dr. Davidson said that
she had a large tumor in her right ovary and a smaller tumor
in her left ovary. They removed both ovaries, her uterus,
her appendix, and the fatty tissue around the colon. She
said there are some smaller spots of cancer which could not
be removed. These areas are all smaller than 1 cm which
suggests positive response to chemo. She will start chemo
in 2-4 weeks, depending on her recovery. Dr. Davidson said
that her prognosis is largely dependent on her response to
chemo, and her good health will help her recovery. She
could be released as early as Monday. It's to early for her
to have visitors, so I'll let you know when she is ready for
that. Please feel free to call my cell phone 719-510-1844
(it works well here) or e-mail here, although I probably
won't check my e-mail until later. Her parents just went in
to see her and she is still in and out and groggy. Then
Gail and I went in and she in her amazing way was able to
ask for help with relaxation so she could breathe easier.
She aslo asked how her surgery went and gave a thumbs up.
Thanks again for all of your support. Will be in touch
soon. Carla

Hi again-
I tried to send an update but I don't think it went through
so I'm re-typing and sending again. Mary is making progress
today...she has been up and walking 3 times, had the oxygen
tube and catheter removed, and is taking pain meds orally
instead of IV. She is having the most difficulty with
feeling bloated. She is also having trouble sleeping and
feels uncomfortable in general. She is still needing a lot
of quiet and is not up for visitors or calls yet. Will try
to send another update later tonight. Thanks for your
support for Mary. Carla
